My name is Michael, I was born and raised in the UK.
I have been working happily as a Native English Teacher in Hong Kong for well-established schools and education centres, as well as offering tailor made private tuition to a wide range of students.
I am currently located in New Territories West area, but able to travel.

Teaching Experience
I have had extensive experience in teaching and tutoring a wide range of age groups including: adults for business, educational and social use; teenagers preparing for interviews, and both written and oral English exams; Primary 1-6 and Kindergarten 1-3 students; working on a wide range of subjects, such as: reading, writing, phonics, and MANY more; I have also taught children from 6-36 months old.
In this career I have had great experience in teaching a wide arrange of subjects, including: IELTS, HKDSE, PET, KET, Cambridge, Trinity, Grammar, Reading, Writing, Vocabulary, Phonics (Jolly Phonics/Letterland/etc..), Blending, and more to varying ages and abilities.
Education Background & Qualifications
I have been working extensively teaching and tutoring English to locals in Hong Kong for over 10 years.
I have also worked in teaching positions within the UK.
Previous to this, I worked office based full time for over 5 years at a prestigious construction company, so I have great knowledge and experience in business formalities.
I possess a Bachelor Degree obtained in the UK, as well as Advanced TEFL/TESOL & CELTA qualification for the Teaching of English to foreign speakers as a second language.
Additional training in: Higher National Certificate (HNC); Effective Communication; First Aid; and Health & Safety.
I am also fully SCRC (Sexual Convictions Record Check) verified.
Teaching Philosophy
"My teaching philosophy is to ensure lessons are fun and interesting, as students will absorb the content much better if they are enjoying and participating in the lesson. When students enjoy learning English, they continue to practice outside of school without even realizing it. Often this will be achieved by incorporating fun games and other exciting medium into lessons.”
